Houseplants

Musgo remembers your plants so you don't have to.

Snap a photo and Musgo takes its best guess at what you're holding; you confirm it. From there it keeps the schedule — watering, feeding, all of it — right there on your phone, whether or not you have a signal.

  • No account needed
  • Nothing tracked
  • Works without signal

Musgo is in closed testing with a small group of people right now. There's no waitlist, and nothing to sign up for.

How it works

Point your camera at it. Musgo takes it from there.

A photo, and a guess to confirm

Musgo takes its best guess at what your plant is and waits for you to agree before anything is saved. Would rather skip the photo? Type the name you know it by instead — or skip identification entirely and set the care routine yourself.

A calendar built from what actually happened

Every watering, every feeding, every time you decide the soil is still damp — Musgo logs it and counts forward from there, never from a calendar square. Water a plant two days early and it's simply due two days later.

One notification, once a day

Everything due gets bundled into a single morning reminder — never a notification per plant, and never a second nag about the same one. Your phone schedules it itself; nothing is pushed from a server.

Through the year

Plants drink less when it's cold.

Musgo stretches the gap between waterings by about half again through the colder months, and works out which months those are from your phone's time zone — not from where you actually are.

It also knows when to stop feeding altogether. A resting plant doesn't need fertilizer, and giving it some anyway can do real harm — so for those months feeding pauses, and the next one waits until the plant is growing again.

One year. Each dot on the ring is a watering, each tick outside it a feeding.

Privacy

There's no account to make.

Musgo never asks for your email, your name, a password, or a phone number. The first time you open it, it quietly generates a random identity for itself — connected to nothing about you.

Your plants, their schedules, and your photographs live on the phone itself, and every screen reads from that copy. A photograph only ever leaves the device when you ask Musgo to identify a plant.

Keeping it

The one thing worth writing down

No email, no password — your identity lives on a single phone. A recovery key is what moves your whole collection to a new one. Musgo only ever stores a scrambled copy of it, so nobody here can look yours up on your behalf — and if it's lost, the collection doesn't come back. Better to hear that now than to find out later.
